Portraiture Workshop at Claydon House with Peter Keegan - Special Offer for the Gallery
In conjunction with our Peter Keegan exhibition opening on Tuesday 16th February, Peter is running a portraiture workshop for 8 people at his new studio at Claydon House on Monday 29th February, 10am - 4pm.
Cost per person is £50 for the day and is a special offer rate as part of the exhibition.
Peter will provide easels, tables and chairs, and tea and coffee. Participants are asked to bring their own materials of oils, acrylics, canvas, paper, brushes etc, and a packed lunch. Participants will work from photographs, which Peter can provide, or they are welcome to bring their own.
Over the course of the day, Peter will both demonstrate and guide you through his easy to follow and structured step-by-step approach to creating a head and shoulders portrait in either oils or acrylics. You will be shown the key elements of portraiture including where to begin, how to mix flesh tones, understanding tone and form, painting facial details and ultimately capturing a likeness. As well as plenty of one-on-one tutoring and guidance, time will be given for relaxed, informal, group critiques to help our understanding and enjoyment of painting and the genre of portraiture. "I intend for all of my workshops to be engaging, productive and enjoyable, helping everyone produce work they are very happy with, regardless of their ability."
To take part in this unique experience, please come into the gallery to sign up. Due to the limited spaces, we can not take telephone or email bookings.
